Founded in 2015, Arem Law represents individuals, civic associations, businesses, and non-profits in a wide variety of matters before the Montgomery County Circuit Court and District Court, as well as the Board of Appeals, Office of Zoning and Administrative Hearings, and Planning Board. He is accomplished in resolving private disputes both with and without the need for contentious litigation in the judicial or administrative system. Arem Law also provides drafting and negotiation of contracts and other agreements, entity formation and agency, and general counsel in a wide array of matters. In addition, Arem Law serves as municipal attorney, representing both residents and legislative bodies with interpretation, enforcement, drafting, and resolution of local matters.
Benjamin D. Arem is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association, and the Maryland Municipal League. He is also a commissioned Notary Public for the State of MD.
Arem graduated with an awarded certification in Business Law and Employment Law. While in law school, he interned with a private practice employment and labor law firm assisting with litigation in the Montgomery County and Charles County Circuit Courts. Arem also interned for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Baltimore, MD, working directly under the array of administrative law judges in analyzing, deciding, and hearing employment law claims. Notably, he was also published for a novel approach to religious discrimination in the workplace under Title VII.
Prior to attending law school – after obtaining his double-major B.A. with honors – Arem worked as an accountant performing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and HR for both corporate and a non-profit entities. He gained extensive experience in general finance principles and practices, business operations, and non-profit management, allowing him to bring a unique background and understanding of clients' personal and business needs.
